Lamma Fun Day and Funkraiser were initiated by Mr. Andrew Doig who went to Nepal and visited Child Welfare Scheme’s (CWS) projects. The trip made a great impression on him and upon Andrew’s return to Hong Kong, he felt compelled to do something.
Andrew is a guy who loves spending time with his family, having fun outdoors, listening to live music, partying with friends and helping people. That was how he came up with these two amazing ideas of fundraising for a cause which are now so much a part of CWS’ identity.
Lamma Fun Day
Ranging from great live music, a beach volleyball tournament, stalls selling arts and crafts, freshly prepared food to children’s games and a charity auction and much much more, Lamma Fun Day is a popular family event attended by over 4,000 people.
Funkraiser
Funkraiser is a wild night of funk and foolery in Lan Kwai Fong, the heart of the partying hub in Hong Kong. As always, the funkiest people will be dressed in the funkiest outfits.
The Lamma Fun Day and Funkraiser events combined have raised so far more than HK$1,161,903. The great thing about these two events is literally every penny raised at the event goes straight to CWS and its projects in Nepal.
